Facebook is currently experiencing its first large-scale outages worldwide. While Twitter is familiar with the problem – not least known for his famous “Failwhale” – this is the first time that Facebook has to deal with such massive problems. Cause and duration are unknown. The first statement was made in the U.S. blog “Mashable”:
Facebook has reached out to us with the following statement: “We are experiencing site issues that are affecting some people. As a result, the site may be slow or time out for some users. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
